libcap-ng-utils software package provides Utilities for analysing and setting file capabilities, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcap-ng-utils
libcap-ng-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcap-ng-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcap-ng-utils *
You will get with libcap-ng-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
